Joey is the kind of designer who puts the user in the center. He works methodically by doing his research before making decisions. The results of his research are always very well translated to visual designs. He’s an easy talker who likes to test and discuss his designs with users and colleagues. I was impressed by his work ethic, creativity and friendly personality. He’s creative and not afraid to go off the beaten track. We’re working with our own e-commerce platform which is in development for more than 5 years. Often, we’ve chosen shortcuts which we later regret. Working with such a platform means working with technical/design debt, which isn’t always the best motivation to try out new things. So, whenever we need someone to think outside of the box, Joey is our go-to guy. Whenever we think we need don’t want to go off the beaten track, Joey surprises and convinces us to rethink. When given carte-blanche, Joey is a very pro-active guy. When asking him to research (a part of) a web shop, he knows how to prioritize things based on what’s most beneficial for the user and the business.
